With Oregon’s Stay Home mandate, we’re transitioning our operations to the digital space and encouraging our donors to give online.

A new generation of health leaders

As Oregon's only public academic health center, OHSU educates a passionate community of students who will become the leaders and innovators of tomorrow's health care workforce in Oregon and beyond.

OHSU's programs offer world-class education to tomorrow's physicians, dentists and nurses; to scientists and engineers; and a diverse array of other health care professionals. Students thrive through innovative curricula, access to world-class tools and experiences, and exposure to new ways of working in the health professions.

OHSU's mission to improve the health and well-being of all Oregonians instills in our students a commitment to serving the communities in which they live and work.

With the goal of inspiring more students to consider practicing in rural areas, OHSU now requires every student from every OHSU professional school to spend time living and studying in a rural community. OHSU's Campus for Rural Health operates training sites in Klamath Falls and Coos Bay, and plans to establish another in La Grande.

OHSU is raising money through the Oregon Rural Health Initiative to transform health care in rural Oregon. Your philanthropic dollars will help recruit the inaugural Dean of Rural Health and build the new headquarters for OHSU’s Campus for Rural Health in Klamath Falls.

When Shira Einstein was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma at age 15, chemotherapy treatment became her biology classroom. Now, 10 years later, she’s back at OHSU. But this time, she’s in an actual classroom — pursuing her dream of becoming a physician.

As the founding dean of the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health, David Bangsberg, M.D., M.P.H., is leading the school to address key social disparities that give rise to chronic disease and early mortality. The school is building a future workforce ideally positioned for impact against challenges such as substance use, rising obesity, racism, gun violence and depression and suicide.

Combining the expertise of Oregon’s only urban university with the state’s only public academic health center, the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health is a premier location for learners who want to make Oregon, and the world, a healthier place.
